Mickey Arthur, Grant Bradburn and Andrew Puttick on Thursday resigned from their respective positions at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore. Arthur had been announced as the Pakistan men’s cricket team director in April 2023, while Bradburn, a former New Zealand cricketer, was named the head coach. Former South Africa cricketer Andrew Puttick had been with the team since April 2023 having been announced as the Pakistan batting coach.

“All three individuals informed the Pakistan Cricket Board of their decision to leave their respective jobs by the end of January 2024,” the PCB stated in a release. “The decision was taken amicably between all the stakeholders,” the release added.

Arthur had previously been the head coach of Pakistan from 2016 to 2019, a period when Pakistan were the No 1 Test side and guided Pakistan to the ICC Champions Trophy title. Following Pakistan’s forgettable run at the ODI World Cup last year, the trio had been dismissed from coaching responsibilities and were assigned new duties at the Pakistan NCA in Lahore.

During Pakistan’s recent Test tour to Australia, Mohammad Hafeez was the team director as well as the head coach, whereas Adam Holioake had been named the batting coach. Umar Gul and Saeed Ajmal had ben named fast bowling and spin bowling coaches respectively.

Pakistan, however, would go onto lose the Test series to Australia by a margin of 3-0.
