Sunrisers, who have now lost three in a row, drop to the sixth spot. Things certainly are getting interesting as we enter the closing stages of the league phase, with the mid-table tussle for playoff spots certainly getting more interesting with each passing day.

Nothing on UltraEdge, and Delhi lose their review. Pooran smashes a rank full toss from Nortje towards deep midwicket, his fifth six of the evening. A brace and a single off the next two followed by a dot. 12 off the over. Nortje signs off with 1/35. SRH need 62 off the last four overs.

Thakur’s back too. Shashank collects a single off the first delivery before Pooran collects his fourth six in the second, getting down on one knee and smashing the ball into the stands behind the square leg fence. An under-pressure Thakur bowls five wides next up. Shashank then tickles a yorker-length delivery past the man at short fine in the fourth delivery. Shashank’s cameo though, ends the very next delivery as he steers the ball straight to Nortje at short third man to depart for 10. Sean Abbott joins Pooran at the centre with SRH needing 74 more to win from 30 with five wickets in hand. They have collected 86 in the last six, making the equation a fairly achievable one.

Pooran continues to attack after Markram’s exit, smashing two sixes off Nortje, who returns to the attack. Expensive over from the South African pacer with 16 coming off it, including two wides besides the maximums. SRH need another 91 to win in the last six overs. Pooran’s batting on 32 off 21, and will have to produce a miracle to guide his team home from here.

FOUR! And now Pooran gets into the act, guiding a full toss angled into the pad from Khaleel towards the vacant fine leg fence. Khaleel cops a painful blow on the collar bone while attempting to collect a catch off his own bowling; Pooran had struck the ball quite powerfully, and the left-arm seamer sure looks in a lot of pain, leading to a halt in proceedings and requiring the DC physio to head to the centre. The pain, though is followed by joy the very next ball as he gets rid of Markram with a slower ball, the set batter departing for 42. Delhi firm favourites to finish winners, even if Markram and Pooran are more than capable of rivalling the kind of destruction unleashed by Warner and Powell earlier this evening.
